Our Day Tours

Tour 1 – Monday – ca 160 km – high plateau of Lassithi

A fantastic drive along winding roads and endless curves. The Lassithi Plateau is a mustsee for anyone traveling to Crete. We take a beautiful mountain pass to Agios Nikolaos and visit the fashionable town of Elounda. On the way back, we stop at the beautiful mountain village of Mohos with its typical Greek market square, where we can enjoy excellent Cretan cuisine in an authentic Greek tavern.

Tour 2 – Tuesday – approx. 210 km – Nida Plateau/Observatory

Via Heraklion, we drive into the high mountains via Axos to Anogia and the Nida Plateau. If visibility is good, we take the road up to an observatory (1,750 meters above sea level) and take some incredible vacation photos. In Anogia, we enjoy the best roast lamb! Delicious!

Tour 3 – Wednesday – 230 km – Coastal tour

Today we are traveling to the east of the island. We follow the coastal road to the narrowest point of Crete, where we cross the island to the south side, to the southernmost city in Europe, Ierapetra. Via Sitia, we take a fantastic tour to the Taverna Panorama. The name says it all. A view to dream of. From here, we begin our return journey along the north coast.

Tour 4 – Thursday – approx. 210 km – to the hippies in Matala

We drive across the island along the Messara Plain, where millions of olive trees grow, to Matala, a small fishing village that has retained its distinctive charm to this day. Here we have the opportunity to visit the world-famous caves of Matala. The ancient Cretans buried their dead in these caves. In the mid-1960s, hippies discovered these caves and lived in them until the 1970s. Even today, you can still see many old hippies who visit this place again and again. You will love Matala. Great beach, don’t forget your swimming trunks.

Tour 5 – Friday – approx. 180 km – Off to the south

Today we travel via Malia to Krassi, where you can admire the thickest tree (plane tree) in Crete. Via Lassithi, we cross the southernmost pass on a scenic route south to Tsoutsouras. You will love the descent. In Kastri, we visit the Taverna Kriti, where you can enjoy a fantastic meal right by the sea. The return journey takes us along beautiful mountain roads with endless curves.
